Gayle Academy For Children Inc. is a Christ-centered, day care and early grade school (Pre-K to grade 1). Students are educated, encouraged and prepared to grow educationally and spiritually so they can pursue higher education, and to serve: their Lord, their families, and their communities. To educate a child in the way they should go is our main objective at Gayle Academy. The core values for Gayle Academy provide a compass to guide us to the future.

Our teaching approach focuses on building a strong foundation in the basics in the early years in order for students to perform well in the higher grades, and achieve their full potential in life after they graduate. Our teaching program ensures that students learn the basic and necessary skills of reading and writing - and develop their critical thinking skills as well. The program includes:

1. Daily practice in three major areas: reading, writing and word study (called "phonics" in lower grades);

2. Large blocks of time daily for reading and writing instruction in small groups;

3. Use of classroom libraries filled with reading-level appropriate books that will interest children and expand their knowledge; and

4. Use of "best teaching practices" which research has proven to raise student achievement.
