Rev. Diana Nelson is a dynamic woman of God with a profound and
unwavering commitment to the divine destiny and mission of the church.
Born on the island of Jamaica, she migrated to England in her teens. There,
she studied Microbiology earning advanced Certificates from Medical
Laboratory Science, successfully completing all requirements for
the Higher National Certificate. Later, she earned a Bachelor
of Science degree, with honors, from the University of London.
She moved on to work at the Royal College of Surgeons of England
where she did research in leprosy. Prior to assuming the role
of Associate Pastor with her husband in Canada, she was employed
as a Quality Control Manager with Oxoid. She was also a Medical
Laboratory Technologist at the Laboratory Corporation of America.
Rev. Nelson is a credentialed minister of the gospel, and currently
serves as an Associate Pastor providing support to the Senior Pastor
at the Church of God of East Flatbush. This community of faith is
evolving from a single cell church model into an urban ministry
center. Their mission is to boldly present the life-changing message
of Jesus Christ to the New York community and beyond. The church
is home to about 1,000 members and ministers to over 2,500 on a
weekly basis.
She is also the Executive Director of the Hope Center Development
Corporation, which encompasses a weekly Food Pantry Program, the
Project Serve feeding program, the General Education Diploma (GED)
preparation program, and the Grant Writing committee. In
addition, she is a board member of the New York State Church of
God Women’s Ministry, and the President of the District
Women’s Ministry in Brooklyn, New York. Rev. Diana Nelson
is a regular speaker at women’s conferences, conventions
and retreats. A woman of great faith and fervent in prayer,
she enjoys challenging women of God to fulfill their divine purpose.
Rev. Nelson has been married to Bishop R. C. Hugh Nelson for
over eighteen years, and they are proud of their three children,
R.C. Nelson Jr., Andre and Sigourney.
